HANDS-FREE FULLY AUTOMATED CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION (CPR) DEVICE

Partnering with Advoltis Pvt. Ltd. Our hands-free fully automated CPR device will be one of the first indigenously developed fully automated CPR device aimed at ensuring emergency cardiopulmonary resuscitation within 5 min of any event of cardiac arrest occurring in public places or at various levels of health-care.

The development of this device is currently at functional prototype stage.

The NEED for such a device:

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) if initiated within 4-6 minutes of cardiac arrest can significantly improve the chances of survival. Any delay beyond 10 min, can cause irreversible, severe damage to vital organs finally culminating in poor clinical outcome.

In this era of COVID19 pandemic, a massive surge of over 50% has been observed in cases of cardiac arrest in various studies across the globe. However, due to high risk of viral transmission during manual CPR procedures, the rescuers are reluctant to provide resuscitation outside hospital settings.

In India, due to scarcity of trained manpower, infrastructure and lack of public awareness, mortality due to cardiac arrest was >90% even before the COVID-19 outbreak.

***Hence, hands-free, fully automated CPR device is the need of the hour.

Short-comings of mechanical CPR devices currently available in India -

  • Highly expensive, as the majority are manufactured abroad.
  • Mostly are semi-automated or manually operated. So are ridden with short-comings which lower the efficacy of CPR. E.g. The rescuer’s fatigue.
  • None of them are specifically designed to cater to the needs of rural India where there is scarcity of resources as well as manpower.

Our Device

  • User-friendly
  • Can be safely used by even minimally trained persons.
  • Will help minimize the contact of health-care provider with the patient, thereby reducing the risk of the former contracting COVID-19 or any other air-borne/ droplet-borne contagious disease for that matter.
